International Save The Vaquita Day
Help us tell the world about the vaquita and make a last stand against extinction!
What is the goal?
The primary goal is to make as many people as possible aware of the vaquita and its plight, and spur them to act. The species is nearly extinct, with only about less than 15 individuals left. We will have a simple message for folks about what they can do to help. Secondary goals are to gather signatures for our petitions to the Mexican government, and also to raise additional funds for future educational and research work on the vaquita.
What will happen this year?
In the past, the primary goal was to make as many people as possible aware of the vaquita and its plight, and to get them to act to help. This year's event will also be a virtual one, with some in-person events. The 2025 agenda is shown below - please check back frequently for updates, as the plan evolves.
