A coalition born from the passion of researchers and educators determined to save the world's most endangered marine mammal from extinction.

In November of this year, the United States will have a critical chance to reverse the disastrous plans of the Trump Administration to hamstring the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 and the Endangered Species Act of 1973. These landmark pieces of legislation provide essential protection to not only marine mammals in US waters, but to others around the world, like the vaquita in Mexico. At the behest of the Administration, Republicans in Congress have been working on this for some time, and also trying to zero-out the budget of the Marine Mammal Commission, the government’s “watchdog” for marine mammal conservation. It is important that we send them a strong message: “We will not stand for this!” A large “blue wave” in the midterm elections will let them know that Americans want to see the marine mammals of the world protected, and will help to maintain these essential laws that prevent the devastation of wildlife. Please help us in this effort by voting Democrat!

Scientists confirm vaquitas can recover if we remove gillnets
